Azure Blob Storage offers massive cost savings over CRM or SharePoint storage. It’s scalable, fast, and ideal for storing various types of data, including images, technical sheets, and other documentation.
“Simplifying External Access”
Quote Manager can be set up within the clients own Azzure Blob Storage and is far easier to manage in terms of access permission than SharePoint
✓ Anyone with a link can access documents—no user setup or login required
✓ No need to manually add quote recipients to permission groups
✓ Publicly viewable URLs make sharing technical sheets and product assets effortless
Blob Storage empowers sales teams to share quote-related materials faster and more securely.
This article explores how the Blob Storage Add-On for Quote Manager CPQ provides a smarter, more cost-effective way to store, manage, and share digital assets.
How to Use Azure Blob Storage for Your Quotes in Dynamics
Step 1: Upload Product Files to Blob Storage
Navigate to the Blob storage area associated with the product in Dynamics.
Upload your files (e.g., product images, technical data sheets)
These files will be stored securely in your own Azure platform and made accessible via Blob URLs.
Step 2: Check the Blob URLs for the Product in Quote Manager
Once your files are uploaded to Blob storage, we can check the corresponding Blob URLs associated with the product in Quote Manager CPQ. These URLs are used to pull images and PDF directly into your quotes and documents.
Create a Quote header
Open Quote Manager
Add the product(s) that now have Blob URLs linked
Check the Blob URLs
Image URL
Datasheet URL
These links are now associated with the product and will appear automatically when the product is used in a quote.
Step 3: Generate Documents in CRM Docs 365 and Preview
Once the quote is finalized, we’re ready to generate documents that dynamically include these assets. CRM Docs 365 (integrated with Quote Manager CPQ) allows you to preview and generate branded documents.
The system will use the Blob URLs associated with your product to pull in the images and link to the data sheet PDFs directly from Blob storage. We can see:

Your customers receive clean, professional quotes with instant access to product visuals and supporting documents—all while staying fully native to Dynamics 365.
