In the Ideal world, the best solution is to integrate Business Central with CE but this comes with its own challenges. There is a standard integration, but this does not cope with the differences to how Business Central and CE manages discounts, price lists, resources and many more issues.

CRM Dynamics has built an API that synchronises products and quotes between the two systems.

On the Fly: Costs, Price & Stock

Our solution dynamically fetch the prices, costs and stock. Using the Account ID and Product ID from the quote in CE, the API navigates the different fields and tables in BC e.g. Sales Prices and Sales Line discounts to identify the price based on the hierarchy of :

1. Account Specific Price

2. Tiered price (Customer Price Groups)

3. List Price

It gets the greatest discount% available based on customer specific pricing, discount groups or, item discount groups.

Our API solution also fetches different costs e.g. unit cost & purchase cost and stock.

It all happens when a product is selected in Quote Manager, it calls the API and the correct price is added immediately to the grid.

Simplifying the Integration

This means that you do not need to synchronise price lists, discount list between Business Central and Dynamics CE ( some companies can have 100’s of these).
