Previously, we have explored how to build a quote using Quote Manager CPQ in Microsoft Dynamics 365.
This time, we will show you how easy and quick to convert a quote into a reusable template, saving you time and ensuring consistency across your sales documentation.
Steps to Create a Quote Template
1. Have a Quote ready
This is the quote that we built before.
2. Save and Convert to Template
Once your quote is ready, follow these steps to convert it into a template:
- Save the Quote: Ensure the quote is saved.
- Convert to Template: Click on the ‘Convert to Template’ option under Quote Manager button
3. Name Your Template
A prompt will appear asking you to name your template. Choose a descriptive name that will make it easy to identify later.
In this case, “Standard Installation”
4. Template Status
After naming your template, the status reason will change to “Template.” This indicates that your quote is now saved as a reusable template.
Using Your Quote Template
Now that you have created a quote template, here’s how to use it for future quotes:
1. Create a New Quote
We can create a new quote from Opportunity, simply by clicking on “+ New Quote Header”
2. Select Existing Template
When Quote Manager CPQ opens up, we can click on the “Templates” button, you will have the option to choose an existing template. Select the template we previously created. In this case, “Standard Installation”. This action will pre-populate the new quote with the layout and details from the template.
3. Customise as Needed
You can edit the pre-populated quote if necessary. Adjust quantities, add or remove items, or modify pricing to suit the specific needs of the new quote.
4. Review and Save
After reviewing the new quote, press on save.
