Managing complex product configurations can be challenging — especially when multiple components, choices, and dependencies are involved. Microsoft’s new Hierarchy Visualisation tool makes this process far simpler by providing a clear, interactive view of even the most detailed configurations.
Because Quote Manager CPQis built entirely within Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement, it can take full advantage of standard Dynamics features, including the new Hierarchy Viewer.
The example below shows a configuration for a BMW 3 Series Saloon. With the new Hierarchy Visualisation tool, creating and maintaining configurations like this becomes much easier.
To view any product configuration, simply select “View Hierarchy” on the configuration record you want to explore.
Overall Visualisation
In this example, the BMW configuration consists of 19 separate products. The hierarchy view clearly displays the vehicle, its associated product options, and suggested add-ons.

Zooming in on Specific Options
Users can zoom into any section of the configuration to explore it in greater detail.
In the screenshot example, we focus on the available colour choices for the BMW.

Editing Configurations Directly in the Hierarchy Viewer
By selecting any box within the hierarchy structure, users can open the corresponding product form and configuration details. Edits can be made directly within the Hierarchy Viewer, streamlining the process and eliminating the need to navigate away from the visualisation.
To add new options, simply click the ellipsis menu (•••) to open the full product form—again, all without leaving the viewer.
Fully Integrated with Microsoft Dynamics 365
Quote Manager CPQ is natively integrated within Microsoft Dynamics 365, users can leverage all core Dynamics CE capabilities, including the new Hierarchy Visualisation tool. This provides a seamless, modern, and efficient way to build and maintain product configurations with greater clarity and speed.
